One of the most awaited films of this year, the trailer of Bellbottom has been released. Film released on August 19 including stars Akshay Kumar along with Vaani Kapoor, Huma Qureshi and Lara Dutta in pivotal roles. The tight story in the trailer and Akshay's style has impressed everyone but Lara Dutta has surprised everyone. Yes, Lara will be seen in the role of Indira Gandhi in the film and her glimpse in the trailer has caught everyone's attention.
At the trailer launch event of the film, Lara told how she got this role. Lara said that she got a phone call and was told that she has to play the role of Indira Gandhi. Lara told that she had said yes without listening to the script.
Lara said, 'But yes, bringing such an iconic figure to the big screen was a big responsibility in itself. As you know, the film also shows the plane hijack incident that happened during his tenure, so it was not easy to portray such a big dramatic event without making it look fake but I enjoyed it a lot. It took a lot of homework and research but this opportunity was life-changing for which I will always be grateful.
The film Bell Bottom is based on a real incident of the 1984 plane hijack. After the fifth consecutive hijack, the Indian government had hired an intelligence spy for this operation of RAW, whose code name was Bell Bottom. About 210 passengers were taken prisoner in these hijacks. In the film, Vaani Kapoor plays Akshay's wife while Huma Qureshi is part of a Dubai-based support group that supports India in this operation.
Releasing on August 19, the film is directed by Ranjit Tiwari while the film is jointly produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, Monish Advani, Nikkhil Advani and Madhu Bhojwani under the banner of Pooja Entertainment.
