There is good news for the fans waiting for Mahesh Bhatt directed film 'Sadak 2'. Producer of the film Mukesh Bhatt told that 'Sadak 2' will now be released on the OTT platform. The film was scheduled to be released theatrically on July 10, but keeping in mind the circumstances, it has been decided to release the film on the OTT platform itself. Mukesh Bhatt has confirmed talking to PTI.
Mukesh said- 'Covid-19 cases are increasing rather than decreasing. In such a situation do you think theaters will open? And even if theaters will open, will people come to see the film? People have to be safe. Today life is more important.'
'Sadak 2' is a sequel to the 1991 film 'Sadak' where Pooja Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt were seen. This was an important project designed for big screen, but now the makers have to go with the digital release. I am forced to come on digital platform because there is no chance of opening of theaters in near time. This is the best I can do to survive here. There are some things that you have to do, not with your choice, but in compulsion. This is the only option left. It is not a matter of intelligence, said Mukesh Bhatt.
Mukesh Bhatt further said – 'But the release of films on OTT does not mean that theaters will be closed. People want outings and big screen entertainment is fun. This is a temporary phase. We have to understand this and should not be angry or degrade each other. But we should give courage to each other'.
Mukesh Bhatt also told that some shooting part is still left and they will start it in July. He said- 'We have two days of shoot left and we are thinking of starting it in July, i.e. next month. Post-production work is also going on'.
Before 'Sadak 2', Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana's film 'Gulabo Sitabo' was also released on the digital platform. Other films which will release on digital platform includes Shakuntala Devi, Gunjan Saxena-The Kargil Girl and Dil Bechara.
