Bollywood actress Sunny Leone turned 40 years old today. Sunny was born in 1981 to a Punjabi Sikh family in Sarnia Ontario, Canada. Her real name is Karanjit Kaur Vohra. Early in her career, Sunny worked at a German bakery and a tax and retirement firm.
Very few people know that Sunny was first approached by film maker Mohit Suri for his film 'Kalyug' (2005). In fact, before Sunny appeared in the reality show 'Bigg Boss-5' (2011), she started to be discussed in Bollywood. This was the reason that Mohit Suri first made up his mind to cast her in 'Kalyug'. But the matter got stuck after coming to the fees. Sunny demanded her fees as Rs 6 crore for this film from Mohit.
According to the time 'Kalyug' came in 2005, Mohit thought such a fee was out of his budget. That is why Mohit flatly refused to pay fees to Sunny. Later Mohit made the film with his sisters Smiley Suri, Deepal Shaw and Amrita Singh. Along with this, Kunal Khemu and Emraan Hashmi were in the lead role.
Nearly 7 years after the release of 'Kalyug', Sunny Leone made her debut with Bhatt Camp's film 'Jism-2' (2012). The film was directed by Pooja Bhatt, Sunny's opposite Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda was seen. The film did not to much, but notice of Sunny's work in it. Because of this, she got back to back movies.
Sunny took a wild card entry in season 5 of the reality show 'Bigg Boss' in 2011. It was here that she got an opportunity to enter Bollywood. Actually, director Mahesh Bhatt came as a guest during an episode of the show and selected Sunny for his upcoming film. However, her debut was not successful.
She later starred in 'Jackpot' (2013), 'Ragini MMS 2' (2014), 'Ek Paheli Leela' (2015), 'Kuch-Kuch Locha Hai' (2015), 'Mastizaade' (2016), 'One Night Stand' '(2016). She has also hosted the seventh and eighth seasons of the TV show 'Splitsvilla'.
