Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, featuring Ajay Devgn in the title role, recorded a noteworthy first weekend as it released close by Deepika Padukone starrer Chhapaak last Friday. As per a report on Box Office India, the period drama demonstrated a climb of around 30% as it earned around Rs 25-26 crore on Sunday.
This takes Tanhaji's absolute weekend assortments to Rs 61.65 crore. This is like the first weekend assortments of Ajay's 2019 film, Total Dhamaal, which had gathered Rs 62.40 crore in the initial three days of its release. Ajay had conveyed two hits a year ago, with De Pyaar De being the other one.
The report expresses that Tanhaji has scored generally excellent numbers in the Mumbai circuit and great numbers in CP Berar and Nizam/Andhra.
In the interim, Chhapaak apparently earned around Rs 7-7.50 crore on Sunday, taking its absolute profit to around Rs 19 crore. The film had opened beneath desires at Rs 4.77 crore through Tanhaji had opened at Rs 15.10 crore.
Sharing the two-day assortment of the film, film trade expert Taran Adarsh had composed on Twitter on Sunday, "Chhapaak witnesses an upward trend on Day 2, but the 2-day total is underwhelming… Decent at premium multiplexes, but unable to connect *and* collect beyond metros… Needs to cover lost ground on Day 3… Fri 4.77 cr, Sat 6.90 cr. Total: Rs 11.67 cr. India biz."
Chhapaak highlights Deepika as an acid assault survivor Malti and furthermore stars Vikrant Massey as the male lead. Tanhaji recounts to the brave story of Tanhaji Malusare and stars Kajol as his better half and Saif Ali Khan as the rival Udaybhan.
