Mizoram: Earthquake Tremors were Felt at 8.02am, Fourth Earthquake in a Week

Earthquake flutters were felt in Mizoram at 8.02 am today. People came out of their homes. The Earth lies on twelve tectonic plates, beneath which the fluid is in the form of lava.

Earthquake flutters were felt in Mizoram at 8.02 am today.  People came out of their homes.  The Earth lies on twelve tectonic plates, beneath which the fluid is in the form of lava.  These plates float on the lava.  Earthquakes occur due to their collision.  Every year these plates move about 4 to 5 mm from their place.  Sometimes these plates collide with each other in this sequence.  Due to which earthquakes occur.

Its intensity was recorded at 4.1 on the Anisar Richter scale of the National Center for Seismology.  The epicenter of the quake is being reported 31 km south-southwest of Champai.  According to the information, there is no news of loss of any property.  This is the fourth earthquake in Mizoram in a week.

The Flutter of the Earthquake were also felt Earlier

Earlier, earthquakes of 18, 21 and 22 were also felt by people. Evening on Sunday (21 June) around 4.10 pm there was a 5.1 magnitude earthquake, the tremors of which were also felt in Meghalaya and Manipur.  Earlier on June 18, another 4.6 magnitude earthquake occurred.  The earthquake on Monday morning was the strongest in recent times.  The Northeast falls in a high seismic zone and earthquakes occur frequently.

On Monday (22 June) there was a 5.3 magnitude earthquake in Mizoram.  Due to this many roads and houses were damaged.  The epicenter of the quake was at zokhawthar in Champhai district on the Indo-Myanmar border.  Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Chief Minister Zoramthanga and assured all possible help from the Center.  Union Home Minister Amit Shah also spoke to CM Zoramthanga and took stock of the situation.
