The Indian Premier League will include ten teams in 2022. This time, two new franchises have been added: Lucknow and Ahmedabad. Meanwhile, the name of the new franchise Ahmedabad has been revealed. Hardik Pandya, an all-rounder, will lead this squad. At the same time, Ashish Nehra, a former fast bowler, is the head coach.
‘Gujarat Titans’ will be the moniker of the CVC Capital-owned team. Let us tell you that the Lucknow team's name has already been revealed. ‘Lucknow Super Giants’ is the name of the team led by KL Rahul. Gautam Gambhir, a former opening batsman, is the team's coach.
It's worth noting that the IPL will hold a mega auction on February 12th and 13th. Ahmedabad, the new franchise, had previously announced its roster. When the team's name was announced, captain Hardik and coach Nehra were there. Aside from Hardik Pandya, the roster also includes Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan and teenage batsman Shubman Gill.
In Lucknow, on the other hand, apart from KL Rahul, all-rounder Marx Stoinis and young spinner Ravi Bishnoi are part of the squad. Vikram Solanki has been named as the franchise's Director of Cricket. Gary Kirsten will act as the franchise's hitting coach and mentor. The IPL 2022 will begin at the end of March this year, with the final taking place in May, according to BCCI secretary Jay Shah.
"We want this group to achieve big achievements for Gujarat and its fans," stated Gujarat Titans owner Siddharth Patel. That is why the name 'Titans' was picked. We want to be inspiring and inclusive as a cricket franchise, which will help it attain long-term success and reputation. We're getting close to the league's blockbuster auction. We are optimistic that we will be able to put together the ideal team. We're looking for players that aren't just talented, but also inspired to be 'Titans of the Game.' We are excited to begin our adventure with the enthusiasm and support of the people of Gujarat, and to inspire and win new fans across India and the world.
