The Telangana government has decided to pass a resolution against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). This decision has been taken at the state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.  The meeting was held on Sunday evening at Pragati Bhavan, the residence of Chandrasekhar Rao. The meeting lasted for at least 7 hours. In this meeting, it has been decided that this proposal will be passed in the Vidhan Sabha during the budget session to be held in the first week of March. Let us tell you that Kerala, West Bengal and Punjab have already passed a resolution against CAA and urges the central government to repeal.

Before bringing this proposal, the state government had requested the central government to repeal the bill last year as well, but the central government did not withdraw the bill. Earlier, the state government had urged that all religions be viewed equally. The meeting states that the CAA is a bill to divide people on religious grounds.

During this meeting, it has been decided that the anti-CAA resolution will be passed in the state assembly. Such as Kerala, Punjab and West Bengal have passed. Let me tell you that earlier in the month of January, Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao had a meeting with all the regional parties against this bill. After this meeting, it has been decided that the state government can pass a resolution against this bill in the state assembly. In addition to the proposal against the CAA in the state's cabinet meeting, it has also been decided to organize the Pattana Pragathi program. The objective of this program is to focus on cleanliness in urban areas. During this time, it has been decided that in this month, attention will be paid to cleanliness and development of greenery in urban areas.
