According to Hindi Panchang, Hariyali Teej is celebrated every year on Tritiya Tithi of Shukla Paksha in Shravan month. On this day, Goddess Parvati was reunited with Lord Shiva. On this day, women fast for the long life of their husbands and offer prayers to Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva Shankar methodically.
According to the mythology, Goddess Parvati had done austerity to get Lord Shiva as her husband, pleased with this, Shiva accepted lord Parvati as a wife on the day of Greenery Teej. This festival, a symbol of unbroken good luck, is a festival of deepening the love of husband and wife in the Indian tradition and maintaining trust among each other. In addition to this, it also gives a message to the husband and wife to sacrifice for each other. On this day, virgin girls keep a vow and wish for a bridesmaid like Shiva for themselves, while married women wish to keep their suhaag intact with Lord Shiva and Parvati.
Tritiya Tithi from Shukla Paksha in Shravan month started on 22 July from 07.22 pm, which will end on 23 July 2020 the next day till 05.03 pm.

On this day, married women fast and worship Mata Parvati and Lord Shiva. They retire from bathing etc. wear clothes which have been provided to them by their Maternal home. In an auspicious time of worship, they set the statue of Goddess Parvati, Lord Shiva and Ganesha in their worship room. Then offer 16 makeup materials, sari, intact, incense, lamp, smell etc. to Parvati Ji. Then offer cannabis, datura flower, intact, bell leaf, white flowers, myrrh, incense, clothes etc. to Shiva. Finally worship Lord Ganesha. Then listen to the story of Hariyali Teej. Then perform the aarti of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati.
