Threat of Zika Virus in UP, Center sent Team of experts to Kanpur

In Uttar Pradesh, the center has become serious to prevent the risk of Zika virus infection. In view of this, the Union Health Ministry has sent a high-level multidisciplinary team to Uttar Pradesh. Let us tell you that a 57-year-old man from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh got tested for Zika virus infection on 22 October.

Team has been sent to assist the state health officials

Union Health Ministry said in a statement that the National Mosquito-Borne Disease Control Program for the control and prevention of Zika virus infection, the National Center for Disease Control, and the multidisciplinary collaboration of an entomologist, public health expert, and gynecologist from the National Center for Disease Control and RML Hospital, New Delhi team has been sent to assist the state health officials.

The team will work closely with the state health department. Also, the team will take stock of the ground situation and assess whether the Union Health Ministry's action plan for Zika management is being implemented. The team will also recommend necessary interventions in public health to manage Zika in the state, the statement said.
