Hurun Global has released its list of the 500 most valuable companies in the world. 12 companies of India have made their place in the list. This includes Reliance Industries and TCS among others. A year ago, 11 Indian companies had joined. The special thing is that for the first time on the list, along with IT company Wipro and HCL Tech, paint company Asian Paints has also got a place.
In the top 500, Wipro is at 461st, Asian Paints at 477th and HCL Technologies at 498th. According to the report, two-thirds of Indian companies are from financial and software services. Further, the number of Indian companies in the top-500 list is going to increase. Because the startup environment in the country is growing rapidly.
The ranking of companies that are already included in the list has declined since last year. This includes Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), HDFC Bank and Bharti Airtel. Kotak Mahindra Bank's valuation declined 8% to $46.6 billion. As a result, it dropped 96 places to rank 380 in the top-500. Similarly, the valuation of ICICI Bank declined by 36% to $62 billion. This reduced the bank's ranking by 48 places to 268th position.
The value of Mukesh Ambani's company Reliance Industries increased by 11% to $ 188 billion. RIL is at 57th position on the list. Among other Indian companies, TCS (74th) is valued at $164 billion, HDFC Bank (124th) is valued at $113 billion. According to the report, the world's most valuable company is Apple, whose value has increased by 15% to $ 2.5 trillion. It is followed by Microsoft, Amazon and Google's parent company Alphabet. These four are also called Big-4.
Most American companies were included in the top-500 list of Aaron Global. Their total number was 243. Apart from this, 47 from China, 30 from Japan, 24 from Britain, 12 from India and 9 companies from Australia were included in the list.
