Assam Health Minister Hemant Vishwa Sarma said that after 42 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported, the infected cases in the state have increased to 2,115. Whereas, in the last two days in the state, cases have suddenly increased significantly, on Thursday, a record 285 cases were reported in a single day and of these, 42 were reported late on Thursday and the remaining 243 were reported throughout the day.
The minister said that out of the new cases, 38 were reported in Dhubri and four in Darang, he further said that 46 more people were discharged from the hospital on Thursday and so far, 459 patients have been cured in the state. The minister said that 1,649 people are under treatment in the state, four have died and three have gone out of the state.
So far, 9,851 new cases of corona virus infected have been reported in the country in the last 24 hours and 273 people have also died, with this, the total number of infected people in the country increased to 2,26,770 and the number of deaths to 6,348. The Union Health Ministry said that 1,10,960 infected patients are undergoing treatment in the country and 1,09,461 people have recovered whereas one patient has gone out of the country. A senior health ministry official said, "48.27 percent of the patients have recovered so far."
