Chhattisgarh BJP MLA Ajay Chandrakar has been embroiled in controversy over addressing Mahatma Gandhi's killer Nathuram Godse as 'ji'. On this, he clarified that this is his own way of honoring the dead person.
Targeting the remarks of Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel on Godse, Chandrakar said, 'The Chief Minister said in his speech that Godseji should be condemned and slogans of Murdabad should be raised against him. If he wants to know Godse's ideology, first he should clarify whether this assembly session is for Mahatma Gandhi or for Godse ji?
'Rite of Honor to the Dead, Regardless of the Enemy', Former minister and BJP MLA Chandrakar even said that the special session of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly can be extended by one day to discuss CM Baghel Godse. When he was asked the reason for addressing Godse as a ji, he said, "Look, there is a dead soul, to show respect to the dead soul, our name is our sacrament with respect, even if it is an enemy."
Godse was a disciple of Savarkar – Bhupesh Baghel
Earlier, Baghel had said that he would only accept that BJP and RSS follow the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi when the two parties started calling Godse Murdabad. He had said that Godse was a disciple of Veer Savarkar and Savarkar had a hand in plotting the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi and no one can deny it.
