With the knock of monsoon clouds in the national capital, many areas experienced heavy rain on Wednesday. Traffic was also disrupted due to waterlogging in many areas and major intersections of the city. Director General of India Meteorology Mrityunjay Mohapatra said- "The monsoon clouds have knocked in Delhi. It has rained in many places. According to the forecast, the arrival of monsoon will be announced on Thursday."
Kuldeep Srivastava, head of the regional forecast center of India Meteorological Department (IMD), said that monsoon clouds caused rain in many parts of the city. He said that the arrival of monsoon can be announced on Thursday. Srivastava further said that to announce the arrival of the monsoon, the data for the last 24 hours (till 8.30 am) will be required from all the weather stations, whereas normally the monsoon arrives in Delhi on 27 June.
The Meteorological Department has forecasted heavy rain in the national capital on Thursday. According to meteorologists, the temperature is expected to be around 36 °C with rain for the next three days.
