Indian Airforce Mi-17 Helicopter Crashed: Five People including Two Pilots were on Board

There have been several helicopters crashes this year in which many pilots of the Indian Army lost their lives.

The Mi-17 helicopter of the Indian Air Force has crashed. No casualty has been reported in this accident that took place in Eastern Arunachal Pradesh. Both the pilots of the army and three members of the crew aboard the helicopter have been evacuated safely.

Why did the accident happen?

The Indian Air Force keeps testing its helicopters and aircraft for maintenance from time to time. On Thursday, an Army Mi-17 helicopter crashed while it was taking off for a maintenance check in eastern Arunachal. However, the IAF has started the process of ordering a Court of Inquiry to ascertain the cause of the accident.

Let us inform you that just a few days back in September this year, an Army helicopter crashed near Patnitop tourist spot in the Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir. Two pilots were killed when an army helicopter crashed on a hill in the Shergarh Dhar area.

Similarly, on 3 August 2021, an army helicopter crashed in the Ranjit Sagar Dam lake near Pathankot. Two pilots aboard the helicopter were killed in this accident. A search operation was carried out in Sagar for several days to find the missing pilots.
