Dal Tadka is a popular North Indian recipe, which is liked by people of all ages. By the way, dal tadka is a common recipe made in every household. It is a very favorite recipe of all and it is also very easy to make. If you do not want to make any difficult meal or time-consuming food, but you want to make simple and healthy recipe then you can make this dal tadka. It is not only easy to make but also takes very less time. It also has good flavor as well as nutritious ingredients.

Ingredients:

1 cup dry moong dal (washed and dried)

1 tsp ginger paste

½ tsp asafoetida

6 tablespoons diced onions

½ tsp mustard

3 chopped green chilies

½ tsp cumin seeds

Salt to taste

1 red chili

1 cup water

4 finely chopped garlic

5 tablespoons vegetable oil

6 curry leaves

1 tsp turmeric powder

4 finely chopped tomatoes

½ tsp fenugreek

1 tsp red chili powder

How to make Dal Tadka Recipe:

 Step 1:

To make this dal tadka recipe, put moong dal and water in a pressure cooker and keep it on medium flame to heat. Cook the dal for 30 minutes. When it is cooked, slow the gas and keep stirring occasionally.

 Step 2:

Now place a pan on medium heat and add some oil to it and heat it. When the oil is hot, add mustard and dry chili. When the seeds start falling, add asafoetida, turmeric, red chili powder, ginger paste, garlic, fenugreek, cumin, curry leaves, green chilies and finely chopped onions.

 Step 3:

When onion starts to turn pink, add chopped tomatoes and cook the mixture on low heat for 5-6 minutes. When it is done, add dal to it and mix. Then add salt to taste, and stir well.

 Step 4:

After this, cook the lentils on low heat for 10 minutes or until the tomatoes are tender. After a few minutes, turn off the gas and put it in a serving bowl. Dal tadka is ready to serve. You can serve this dal tadka with rice or chapati and salad. You can serve it with crisp potatoes and raita.
