Indian Students are More Important than Politics: Mamata Banerjee

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has targeted the Modi government at the Center for the evacuation of Indian students and civilians from Ukraine during the war by Russia. She has said in his statement that it is the responsibility of the central government to bring back Indians trapped in war-torn Ukraine. She said that the central government should understand that Indian students and citizens are more important than politics. Along with this, she has appealed to the central government to take initiative for world peace.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's remarks came after an Indian student, a resident of Karnataka's Haveri district, was killed in blast in Ukraine's Kharkiv city on Tuesday. This is the first case of the death of an Indian student in the ongoing war in Ukraine after the Russian attack. Mamata Banerjee was talking to the media before leaving to campaign for the Samajwadi Party in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
