3 Army Soldiers Martyred in Kupwara: There has been a big loss in the Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir. Here three army personnel fell into a deep gorge near LoC in the Machhal sector on Wednesday i.e. Jan 11.
All three soldiers were martyred in this accident. Amid heavy snowfall, the duty of these jawans was engaged in patrolling.
These jawans who were guarding the country did not realize the ditch and all three of them went into a deep ditch. The bodies of the three jawans have been taken out.
Confirming the accident, the army paid tribute to the martyred soldiers. According to the information given by the army, one of the martyred soldiers is a Junior Commissioned Officer and two ORs.
Srinagar-based Army's Chinar Corps said in a tweet that during a routine operation, a JCO and a team of two other jawans slipped into a deep gorge due to snowfall. The bodies of all three have been recovered.
The identity of the three jawans has not been made public yet. The senior officers of the army are engaged in further action.
Earlier in November 2022 also a similar incident happened here. At that time too, three army soldiers were martyred in an avalanche in the Machhal sector of Kupwara.
The three jawans who were martyred in the November 2022 incident were identified as Souvik Hazra, Mukesh Kumar and Manoj Laxman Rao.
It is known that Kupwara is an area adjacent to the Indo-Pak border LoC. Here, army personnel are stationed on the snow-capped peaks to protect the country.
