SC asks South Delhi officials as to why 'anti-encroachment drive was conducted despite hearing
In the latest development from the Shaheen Bagh row, the SC had asked South Delhi officials as to why they started the anti encroachment drive, despite the fact that the matter was scheduled for hearing on Monday. The court would be hearing the plea filed in response to the drive at 2PM.
Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh had yet again been in the news as the MCD’s(South Delhi Municipal Corporation) had reached to the spot along with it for the anti bulldozers and JCBs. It must be known here that the anti-encroachment drive has been in the news for the past few days.
As the MCD stepped into the locality along with its demolishers, residents, in an obvious move, started opposing the anti-encroachment drive of the corporation. Many locals laid down in the front of the bulldozers while many sat on Dharna opposing the drive.
Earlier too, upon a communal clash Jahangirpuri, the North Delhi Municipal Corporation’s demolishers brought down several homes and shops naming it an anti-encroachment drive
