Bangladesh Unrest: Bangladesh is currently experiencing a period of severe chaos. Amidst heavy violence, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has resigned and fled to India. Following her departure, large-scale attacks on minorities have begun.

As anticipated, a significant number of Bangladeshis are now attempting to cross the border into India.

In response, the Border Security Force (BSF) has stopped Bangladeshi citizens at the border itself.

Attempt to Enter Indian Territory

A senior BSF officer reported that a large group of Bangladeshi citizens gathered at various points along the international border with North Bengal this evening.

The Bangladeshis were attempting to enter Indian territory. They were dispersed with the help of Border Guard Bangladesh, civil administration, and BSF personnel.

High Alert Issued on India-Bangladesh Border

According to the BSF, in light of recent events in the neighbouring country, a 'high alert' has been declared across all units along the 4,096-kilometre India-Bangladesh border as of Monday.

A BSF statement said, "BSF officials have coordinated with state government authorities and local communities in border villages. The discussion focused on the current situation in Bangladesh and the takeover of power by the Bangladeshi military. The BSF emphasized the need for vigilance to prevent infiltration and smuggling."

Interim Government to Take Oath on August 8

Following the coup in Bangladesh, the interim government led by Nobel laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus will take the oath of office on August 8.

Army Chief General Waker-uz-Zaman announced this. Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, General Wakaer mentioned that the interim government might be sworn in at 8 p.m. on Thursday.
