The UPSC has taken significant action against IAS officer Puja Khedkar amidst ongoing controversies. She will no longer hold her IAS position.
The UPSC has also banned her from participating in any future exams or selection processes.
Additionally, her candidacy for CSE-2022 has been cancelled. The commission issued a statement detailing this action. The UPSC stated that after reviewing all records, it was found that Puja Khedkar had violated the rules of CSE-2022.
It is noteworthy that Puja Khedkar faces allegations of fraud. The interim bail hearing for Puja Khedkar took place in Delhi's court on Wednesday (July 31). After the hearing, the court reserved its judgment. The decision will be announced on August 1.
Recently, the Delhi Police's Crime Branch filed a case against Puja Khedkar. The action was initiated following a complaint from UPSC.
Puja Khedkar is accused of providing false information in documents, including incorrect details about her name, photo, email, and address.
To avoid arrest following the Crime Branch's action, Pooja Khedkar approached the court.
Previously, UPSC had issued a notice to Puja Khedkar. The commission found during its investigation that Khedkar had fraudulently created a false identity by altering details such as names, parents' names, photographs/signatures, email IDs, mobile numbers, and addresses.
This was done to gain an unfair advantage by exceeding the permissible limits under exam regulations.
