Nepal's Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba is coming to India on Friday on his three-day visit. This is his first foreign visit after assuming the post of Prime Minister. In India, he will meet senior government ministers including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. Deuba is visiting India just after Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi's visit to Nepal. Deuba's visit to India assumes significance in view of the recent China-Nepal relations. Along with this, the journey is also important for starting the rail network between India and Nepal. According to Kathmandu Post, PM Modi and Deuba can inaugurate the Kurtha-Jayanagar railway line on Saturday.
Experts believe that after becoming the PM, Deuba wants to create a new enthusiasm in India-Nepal relations. During the time of KP Sharma Oli, the bitterness in the relations between the two countries has reduced but it is not completely over yet. Deuba wants to create warmth in the old trust and relations between the two countries. The influence of China on Nepal was more visible during the time of KP Sharma Oli. It is believed that China was behind the border dispute with India and the kind of talks about the new map.

If reports are to be believed, a delegation of KP Sharma Oli's party CPN-UML is on a visit to China. Reports quoted sources as saying that China wants to reconcile Oli and Prachanda once again. It is evident that because of the changing international developments and domestic politics, Deuba has remembered the interest of his country. The situation in which China's debt has brought Sri Lanka is not hidden from anyone. Sri Lanka's economy has collapsed and people have taken to the streets.
Bhekh Bahadur Thapa, former foreign minister and Nepal's ambassador to India, says there is no dearth of issues to discuss with India. The bilateral relationship between the two countries is an important issue that is 'not yet satisfactory'. Thapa says that there are many bilateral issues, projects and agreements signed between India and Nepal in the past which have not yet reached their target. In such a situation, this visit of Deuba will give an opportunity for India and Nepal to revitalize their commitments and efforts.
