More than 1,800 employees of the National Health Mission in Nagaland stopped their indefinite agitation on Wednesday following the government's assurance to meet their demands. Employees under the banner of National Health Mission Employees Union Nagaland (NEAN) had been in work since Sunday, demanding regularization of their services, parity with state health workers and payment of all basic benefits.
Health Minister S.W Said that there was a meeting with Panganu Phuom and he assured of meeting the demands while seeking time to work on the modalities of the government.
Magha said that after the assurance, NEAN decided to withdraw the agitation for 15 days in the public interest keeping in mind the COVID-19 crisis. NHM employees include ambulance drivers, laboratory technicians, nurses and doctors.
