Air Force fighter aircraft MIG-21 crashed in Moga, Punjab on Thursday night. Pilot squadron leader Abhinav Chaudhary has died in the accident. The Air Force has ordered a court of inquiry into the incident.
According to media reports, during a training session, pilot Abhinav Chaudhary took off from MIG-21 to Suratgarh in Rajasthan, but the aircraft crashed in Moga.
Earlier on March 17, the fighter plane MIG-21 crashed during a bison flight in an accident. The Air Force captain lost his life in this accident. Earlier in January, there was also a MIG-21 bison crash in Suratgarh, Rajasthan. At that time the aircraft had a technical fault during the flight.
The MIG-21 was once called the backbone of the Indian Air Force, but now this aircraft is outdated. Despite the upgrade, they are neither fit for war nor fit for flight. In the last 5 years, more than 483 MIG aircraft have been victims of the accident. More than 170 pilots have lost their lives in these accidents.
