Before the Punjab assembly elections, there is bad news for the Congress that it's MLA Luv Kumar Goldy has joined Amarinder Singh's party Punjab Lok Congress. Luv Kumar Goldie has joined Amarinder Singh's party along with his supporters.
Significantly, ever since the Congress Party has released its list of 86 candidates for the elections, there is dissatisfaction in the party. Even Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi's brother Dr. Manohar Singh has come down on the revolt.
According to the reports, Charanjit Singh Channi wanted his brother to contest from Bassi Pathana assembly seat, but the party did not give him a ticket. Party's state president Navjot Singh Sidhu also opposed his candidature, after which he did not get the ticket.
After not getting the ticket from the party, Dr. Manohar Singh wanted to contest from Bassi Pathana, but he was not given a ticket from the party, so now he will contest as an independent. The party has given a ticket to Sonu Sood's sister Malvika Sood from the Moga assembly seat, which is also being opposed by many party leaders.
After this protest that emerged in the party, the opposition has become an attacker and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Raghav Chadha said on Monday that Congress has proved it by denying ticket to Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi's brother and another relative that party has made Charanjit Singh Channi the Chief Minister just to get the votes of the Scheduled Castes.
It is worth noting that in the first list of 86 candidates released on Saturday, Congress has given a ticket to sitting MLA Gurpreet Singh GP from Bassi Pathana (Scheduled Caste Reserved) seat, while Channi's brother Manohar Singh was eyeing this seat.
Raghav Chadha said that Channi's brother was demanding a ticket from Congress to contest from Bassi Pathana seat. Similarly, Mohinder Singh Kaypee, a relative of Channi, who wanted to get a ticket from the Adampur seat in Jalandhar, was also denied, the AAP leader said. He alleged that Kaypee was not given the ticket because he is a relative of Channi.
