This case is from the Bikaner district where a male guard was seen cutting the sleeve of a female candidate's top during the RAS 2021 (Rajasthan Administrative Services, 2021) examination.
The commission strongly condemned the matter. The commission said that it is highly disgraceful for women to undergo such harassment and the NCW strongly condemns this shameful incident.
The commission has taken cognizance of the matter. The chairperson of the Women's Commission Rekha Sharma has written a letter to the Chief Secretary, Government of Rajasthan. She has also sought answers for the absence of any female guard at the examination centre to screen female candidates. The RAS Preliminary Examination was conducted by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) on Wednesday i.e. October 27, 2021. The examination was conducted under all the COVID-19 guidelines issued by the Central and State Governments regarding the Corona pandemic.
Under this, the examinees had to compulsorily wear masks. Apart from this, hand sanitiser will have to be kept in a transparent bottle and instructions were given to maintain physical distance at the examination centre. Apart from this, the candidates were asked to take care that they do not misbehave with the invigilators of the RPSC exam centre.
