Australian Test team captain Tim Paine said that Indian captain Virat Kohli is the best batsman in the world and he attacks the opposing team in the same way. Referring to the Indian team's tour of Australia in 2018-19, he said that he will always 'remember' the 'competitive attitude' of the Indian captain.

Tim Paine said in Gilchrist's podcast that Virat is the best batsman in the world

The 36-year-old wicket-keeper batsman said in former veteran Adam Gilchrist's podcast 'Gilly and Goes', "For Virat Kohli, I have said many times that he is the type of player you would love to have in your team. He is competitive. "He is the best batsman in the world." He added, "It is challenging to play against him (Kohli) and he does not get caught up in your tricks. Because he is very good and competitive in the game."

Under Kohli's leadership, India defeated Australia for the first time in 2018-19 in a Test series on its territory. India had won the Border-Gavaskar series 2–1, and a verbal war between the two captains was also witnessed several times during the entire series. Paine said, "Yes, there were differences with him four years ago. He is the kind of player I will always remember."
