Badminton Asia Team Championship: Team India made it to the Semi-Finals

Star shuttlers Kidambi Srikanth and B Sai Praneeth suffered losses in the first two singles matches, but India came back to win the next three matches, including one singles and two doubles. In this way, India defeated Thailand in the quarter-finals to advance to the semi-finals.

The Indian men's team defeated Thailand by 3–2 in the semi-finals of the Badminton Asia Team Championship. Star shuttlers Kidambi Srikanth and B Sai Praneeth suffered losses in the first two singles matches, but India came back to win the next three matches, including one singles and two doubles. In this way, India defeated Thailand in the quarter-finals to advance to the semi-finals, where they will face defending champion and two-time winner Indonesia. The men's team won a bronze medal at the 2016 stage in Hyderabad.

World Championship bronze medalist B Sai Praneeth came first, but his effort was not successful and he lost to world number 12 Kantaphon Wangcharoen 14-21, 21-14, 12-21. In the second singles, former world number one Srikanth lost 20-22 14-21 to three-time World Junior Champion Kunlavut Vitidsarn, leaving the Indian team 0-2.

Subsequently, MR Arjun and Dhruv Kapila maintained India's hopes with 21–18, 22–20 victories in the first doubles over Kittinupong Kedren and Tanupat Viriangkura. Young Lakshya Sen, who performed brilliantly last year, equaled India 2–2 with a 21–19, 21–18 win over world number 45 Suppanyu Avihingsanon. This was followed by Chirag Shetty and Srikanth. The Indian pair won 21–15, 16–21 21–15 in the second doubles match over Maneepong Jongjit and Nipitphon Phuangphuapet.
