The title clash took place between the Sydney Sixers and the Melbourne Stars. The battle was won by host Sydney Sixers by 19 runs. This is the second BBL title for the Sydney Sixers.
The final match of BBL 2020 was reduced to 12–12 overs due to rain. In this match, Melbourne Stars captain Glenn Maxwell won the toss and decided to bowl first. In such a situation, batting first, the Sydney Sixers scored 116 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 12 overs. Josh Philippe hit a stormy half-century on behalf of the Sydney Sixers.
