While, Peter Handscomb, Shaun Marsh and Nathan Coulter Nile have not found a place in the team.
Cricket Australia's Chief selector Trevor Hohns said that the team has been selected keeping in mind the preparations for the next T20 World Cup and the one-day World Cup to be held in 2023. The next T20 World Cup is to be held in Australia from October 18 to November 15 this year while the 2023 ODI World Cup will be hosted by India.
Australia's executive general manager Ben Oliver said there are many challenges to organize cricketing activities amid coronavirus. We will do whatever we can to deal with it. He said that work is being done with England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to start cricket.
