ICC Women's ODI Rankings: India's star player and vice-captain, Smriti Mandhana, climbed to the third position in the ICC (International Cricket Council) Women's ODI rankings released on Tuesday, August 20, improving by one spot.
Mandhana now holds 738 rating points and is the highest-ranked Indian batter in the ODI format. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur has retained her ninth position in this list.
At the top of the rankings is England's Nat Sciver-Brunt with 783 rating points. In second place is South Africa's Laura Wolvaardt with 756 rating points, and in third place is India's Smriti Mandhana.
Sri Lanka’s leading batter Chamari Athapaththu dropped from 3rd to 4th place in the ICC Women's ODI rankings. Meanwhile, her teammates made significant gains: Nilakshika de Silva improved by three spots to 32nd, Harshitha Samarawickrama moved up eight positions to 44th, and Kavisha Dilhari advanced by four spots to 50th.
Mandhana successfully retained her 4th position in the T20 International rankings. Sri Lanka's Harshitha Samarawickrama and Ireland’s opener Gaby Lewis achieved their career-best rankings.
In the second T20 International between Sri Lanka and Ireland, Samarawickrama scored 65 runs off 44 balls, moving up three places to 13th, while Lewis scored an unbeaten 119 off 75 balls, rising four places to 21st. Lewis previously reached this ranking in July 2022.
In the IPL 2024, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) was unable to secure a championship, but Smriti Mandhana's leadership in the Women's Premier League (WPL) led her team to victory. Under Mandhana’s captaincy, RCB successfully won their first trophy.
