Due to the increasing effect of the coronavirus, the BCCI has confirmed that India and South Africa will play the remaining two matches of the ODI series in the empty stadium. The South African cricket team is on India tour these days and the next two ODIs between the two teams are scheduled to be held on 15 and 18 March. On March 15, the second ODI is to be played in Lucknow and the third ODI will be played on March 18 in Kolkata. But the local audience will not be able to enjoy it by going to the ground.

In fact, due to Coronavirus, the BCCI has been advised by the government that both the matches should be held in an empty stadium. Let me tell you that the first match of the three-match ODI series between India and South Africa was to be played in Dharamshala, but due to rain, not a single ball could be bowled and the match was canceled. To save the common people from the havoc of Corona, the state government and the government of the country is taking all possible steps. In this series, the Indian government has now suggested to the BCCI that the next two matches of the three-match ODI series between India and South Africa be held without any audience. The board probably has no other option than this as the WHO has declared coronavirus as an epidemic and such measures are being taken to protect people from it.

Apart from this, the Sports Ministry has also advised all the Sports Federations and BCCI to heed the suggestions of the Ministry of Health and prevent a large number of people from gathering at one place during the sporting event. In view of the risk of coronavirus, work should be done keeping in mind the guidelines issued by the government before organizing any event.
