India Vs Australia 5th T20 International: Suryakumar Yadav won his maiden series of the shortest format against Australia yesterday in the fourth match which was played in Raipur.
This is a very good sign for India before they play a three match series versus the Proteas from next Sunday, 10th December 2023.
SKY has led the team very well in the absence of Hardik Pandya. This maiden series win against a strong Aussie side will boost his confidence.
India had defended a score which wasn’t much. The Indian batters could amass only 174 runs in their 20 overs quota. Rinku and debutant wicket-keeper batter, Jitesh Sharma helped the country to reach that total.
But the Indian spin bowlers, Ravi Bishnoi and Axar Patel guided the team to this victory and India is ahead of the Aussies by a margin of 3-1. Now the men in the blue side should look to make it a 4-1 series win. They can recall Ishan Kishan as the opening partner of the lone centurion maker of this series Ruturaj Gaikwad.
Jaiswal has been too aggressive at the start and he has given his wicket away in that process. Ishan Kishan is a seasoned opening batter in the white ball format and the team management shouldn’t experiment with his position as the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup in the Caribbean and United States of America is not far away.
India can also bring Arshdeep Singh in their playing XI. Singh is a new ball specialist in the white ball format for the men in blue side and he is equally good in the backend overs as well. Arshdeep can be replaced with Avesh Khan or Deepak Chahar in the squad for the last game of the series.
Many of the players from Australia have returned home after their successful campaign in the ODI World Cup 2023. In this T20I series, the Aussies were in the game for the majority of time. But still they could seal just one moment and that came because of Maxwell’s unbeaten 104 runs in the 4th T20I match of this series.
The bowlers have bowled decently in the series. But to end this tour on a high and with a consolation win, The Aussies will have to bat well especially when they chase because they don’t have The Big Show with them anymore. The visitors can recall Kane Richardson back instead of Ben Dwarshuis.
