Kings XI Punjab spent a lot of money in the IPL 2020 auction. Punjab still awaits their first title win. The Punjab franchise bought Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell in the auctions. He was bought by the Kings for Rs 10 crore 75 lakh. Punjab, with the most money in the auction, added five players to its squad.
Kings XI Punjab will play under the leadership of KL Rahul for the next season. The team management has appointed him as the captain. Team's director of cricket Anil Kumble gave this information on Thursday. In 2019, Punjab was led by R Ashwin, but this year, Punjab sold him to Delhi Capitals under the trade window.
Rahul said, "I thank the fans, coaches, franchisees for giving me this responsibility. I am grateful to the fans and the team for the love and support they have given me. We had a good day at the auction, we bought the players we wanted. Waiting for the IPL to start."
