Rajasthan Royals (RR) defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 7 wickets in their last home match of the 12th edition of IPL on Saturday. Rajasthan's bowlers did not allow Hyderabad to score big in the Sawai Man Singh stadium. The hosts needed only 161 runs to win. Royals won the match in 19.1 overs and with a loss of 3 wickets.
After this victory, Rajasthan now on the 6th position with 6 points in 12 matches. To stay in the playoffs, they will have to beat the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on 30th April and Delhi Capitals (DC) on May 4. On the other hand, Sunrisers' team is on the 4th position with 10 points in 11 matches.
In the victory of Rajasthan, 27-year-old fast bowler Jaidev Unadkat was the man of the match. He snatched 2 wickets for 26 runs in 4 overs. He is the same Unadkat on whom the most expensive bids were played in the last two IPL auctions. This is his first 'Man of the Match' in 25 matches since then.
If we talk about left-handed pacer Unadkat's performance, he had the highest bid of Rs 11.5 crore last year and Rs 8.4 crore for IPL-2015. Unadkat has played 15 matches for Rajasthan Royals in IPL-2011, after being sold as the most expensive; he took 11 wickets, while he took 9 wickets in 10 matches of the current IPL.
It is notable that Unadkat had taken 24 wickets in 12 matches including a hat-trick in the IPL -2017, playing on behalf of the Rising Pune Supergiant, but after this, his performance was not proven sharp.
Unadkat won the Man of the Match for the fifth time in the IPL. If we talk about achieving the highest man of the match as an Indian fast bowler in the IPL, Umesh Yadav has be declared as the Man of the Match eight times.
