World champion India's star badminton player PV Sindhu was knocked out of the Malaysia Masters tournament after losing a straight game against Chinese Taipei's Tai Tzu Ying. In the quarterfinal match played on Friday, Chinese Taipei's Tai Tzu Ying defeated Sindhu by 21-16, 21-16 in just 36 minutes to advance to the semi-finals. Sindhu was seen struggling in this match but failed to get past Tai Tzu. In both sets, Sindhu gave a tough fight to the Chinese Taipei player but ultimately failed to take the lead.

When Sindhu lost 21-16 in the first set, the Indian fans hoped that she would return in the second game. The result of the second game was also the same as before and by a margin of 21-16, Tai Ju won the semi-finals. On Thursday, Sindhu showed a brilliant game and won against Aya Ohori of Japan in just 34 minutes. Sindhu won this match by 21-10 and 21-15. Now all hopes from India are with Olympic medalist Saina Nehwal. After the defeat of Sindhu, Saina has to play in the quarter-finals. She will face Spain's Caroline Marin to reach the semi-finals.
