World Championship bronze medalist B Sai Praneeth was knocked out of the Malaysia Masters badminton tournament with a straight game defeat against Rasmus Gameke of Denmark in the first round here on Wednesday. Praneeth lost 11-21, 15-21 in the first round of this Super 500 tournament, which gave India a disappointing start.
Kidambi Srikanth also lost to Chinese Taipei's Chou Tien Chen. He lost 17-21 5-21 to the Chinese player. Indian women's shuttler Saina Nehwal made it to the second round of the Malaysia Open. She defeated Belgian player Lian Tan 21-15 21-17 in just 36 minutes. At the same time, PV Sindhu entered the second round by defeating Evgeniya Kosetskaya of Russia 21-15 21-13.
