ODI World Cup 2023: India hasn’t put a foot wrong in this ODI World Cup 2023. The men in blue side have won all their encounters so far and they are the only team to do this miracle in this ICC mega event of the one-day international format. India has played 8 matches and they have 16 points on the board.

India has played 8 matches and they have 16 points on the board.

Now Rohit Sharma and his men will play their last league match of this year’s ODI World Cup 2023 against the Netherlands on Sunday, 12th November 2023 at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

The men in the blue side are favourites to crush the Dutch side as well before they play the 1st semi-final match of this year’s tournament.

Before the all-important 1st semi-final clash starts at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday, 15th November 2023, today, in this segment let us have a look at the 4 reasons why the men in blue side are dominating the ODI World Cup 2023 tournament like never before -

1. Form of Indian Opening Batters

Team India is blessed to have Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma as the openers in this year’s ODI World Cup 2023. Gill wasn’t available for the first few matches of this ODI event because of dengue fever and he was back in the side in the match against Pakistan.

Now Gill looks in superb touch and he has been supporting his skipper HITMAN well. India has got to aggressive starts in this ODI World Cup 2023 mainly because of the captain Rohit Sharma.

HITMAN has shown a spark in his batting he is also the second-highest run scorer for India in this fifty overs tournament.

The Indian openers have successfully dominated the new ball and that too in the powerplay overs. Apart from the game versus England, the Indian openers have done a good job in all the other games.

Hope that Rohit and Gill continue the same form in the semis and the finals of the ODI World Cup 2023 as well.

2. The Middle Order Has Fired For India

After the show from the Indian openers, the middle order batters of the men in the blue side has also done an excellent job until now in this ODI World Cup 2023. For India, the King bats at number 3 and he owns this spot currently.

Recently, King Kohli also equalled the record of 49 centuries of Sachin Tendulkar and Kohli is just one short of breaking that mammoth stat.

The fans of Virat Kohli want him to break that record in the upcoming matches of the semis and finals of this year’s ODI World Cup 2023.

Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul also need to be mentioned for their good work till now. Iyer has looked in decent form off late with two back-to-back centuries while KL Rahul’s knock in the opening encounter against the Aussies was incredible.

The wicketkeeper batter guided India home from a tricky situation and that too in a run chase. KL has been good behind the stumps as well with those catches and DRS decisions.

3. The Pace Trio

India’s bowling has been worth noticing in this year’s ODI World Cup 2023. India has been the only team who haven’t conceded 300 or more runs in this fifty-over event.

We all want them to continue with such great form in the semis and finals as well.

Boom Boom Bumrah and Mohammed Shami have been excellent in this tournament. Bumrah has been successful in getting those early breakthroughs with the new ball while Shami has been a destroyer in the middle overs.

Siraj looked out of sorts in a few games. But he made a good comeback in the game versus Sri Lanka at Mumbai.

4. India's Spin Twins

The wrist spin and the chinaman bowler of India have been successful in getting those wickets in the middle phase of an innings and the team who has been getting those wickets in the middle overs have won the matches for their countries in this ODI World Cup 2023.

Ravindra Jadeja has been forming a formidable pair with Ravichandran Ashwin in Test matches and Kuldeep Yadav in the one-day international matches.

Sir Jadeja hasn’t contributed much with the bat till now as the spin bowling all-rounder of the men in blue side.

But he has bowled extremely well for India in this ODI World Cup 2023. Jaddu has even got a five-wicket haul in this tournament in the game against South Africa and he is just the second Indian spin bowler to achieve this feat in the ODI World Cup tournaments.

Yuvraj Singh was the first Indian to get a five-fer. He did it in the 2011 ODI World Cup.

Kuldeep Yadav struggled to make an impact at one stage but now he is a key member for India in their ODI World Cup 2023 campaign. This chinaman bowler has been effective just like Ravindra Jadeja.

Kuldeep has bowled so well that he hasn’t allowed Test specialist player like Ravichandran Ashwin to seal his spot in India’s playing eleven till now.
