Team India's star off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin on Thursday revealed that he was supposed to play in the second Test against England at Lord's, but the team's playing XI had to be changed due to rain before the toss. He could not even play in the first Test played in Nottingham. Shardul Thakur was injured after this match, so it was believed that Ashwin might get a chance. Fast bowler Ishant Sharma got a chance in place of Shardul. Team India defeated England by 151 runs in the second Test to take a 1-0 lead in the series.

In his YouTube show, 'Kutti Story', Ashwin said, "The funny thing was, before the match, they were like, 'There's a heatwave. You please be ready mate. You might play.' Upon coming to breakfast in the morning, rains started lashing out. I asked, 'Won't you tell about heatwave after it came? Why gave me hope only for it to end in disappointment!"

Third test will start from August 25:

The first match of the five-match Test series between England and India ended in a draw. The fifth day's play could not be played due to rain. Team India was in a strong position in that match as well. After this, the Indian team registered a resounding victory in the second match. Now, the third Test between the two teams will start from August 25.
