Indian badminton player Lakshya Sen won the fifth title of the season by defeating Leong Jun Hao of Malaysia in the men's singles final of Bangladesh International Challenger. The 18-year-old defeated Hao 22–20, 21–18 in straight games. He became the champion for the fifth time in the last seven tournaments. After this victory, Lakshya tweeted, "I am happy with the end of the year victory in Bangladesh here with my fifth title. Hopefully, good form will continue next year."

Among other Indians, in the women's doubles, Manisha K and Rituparna Panda were beaten by a 20-22 19-21 from the Malaysian pair of Tan Parle Kung Lee and Tinah Muralitharan. MR Arjun and Dhruv Kapila also lost in the men's doubles. They lost 19-21 16-21 to the fourth seed Malaysian pair of Yi Jun Chang and Kei Wun Ti in the title match.

Indian badminton player Tasnim Mir defeated Tara Shah to win the under-15 Asia Junior Championships in the under-15 women's singles category. In the All India title match, both the players gave a tough fight to each other, but the top seed Tasnim finally managed to win 17-21 21-11 21-19 in 55 minutes. With this victory, Tasnim won the gold medal, while Tara had to be content with the silver medal. These two girls, however, improved their performance from the previous tournament in Myanmar last year, where they reached the quarter-finals. Both the players made it to the finals on Saturday with an easy win over their respective rivals in Japan in the semi-finals. Tasnim defeated Sora Ishioka 21-16 21-11 while Tara defeated Kazune Iwato 21-18 21-14 to advance to the finals.
