The T20 series against India proved to be the last international match for Sri Lankan all-rounder. Isuru Udana, who missed the last T20 due to injury, has announced retirement from International Cricket on Saturday. Fast bowling all-rounder Udana, who played 21 ODIs and 35 T20Is for Sri Lanka, decided to put an end to his 12-year career. He suffered an injury before the third and series-deciding T20 match against India. Due to injury, he could not be a part of the team's playing XI. Meanwhile he said, "I believe the time has come for me to make way for the next generation of players. It is with immense pride and passion, and unfathomable commitment that I have represented and served my country."
Sri Lanka's team achieved a one-sided victory in the last match against India. In the series, the team won the trophy by winning 2-1. In 2009, Udana made his international debut in the T20 match against Australia in Nottingham. In his career, he took 27 wickets in 35 matches and also scored 256 runs. In the home series against India in 2012, Udana got a chance to make his ODI debut. In 21 ODIs, this player took 18 wickets and also scored 237 runs.
In the last T20 match, Indian team captain Shikhar Dhawan won the toss and decided to bat. Captain Dhawan's decision was not right and the Indian batsmen performed poorly. At the same time, Sri Lankan bowlers dominated Team India in the first innings and Team India could score just 81 runs in 20 overs for 5 wickets. Sri Lanka got a target of 82 runs to win, which the team achieved in 14.3 overs with the loss of 3 wickets. Meanwhile, Dhananjaya de Silva scored 23 and Wanindu Hasaranga returned unbeaten on 14 runs.
