The 3-day warm-up match played between India and County Select team has ended in a draw. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who scored a half-century in the first innings, scored 51 runs in the second innings as well. The Indian team declared the second innings on the score of 192/2. India had a total lead of 283 runs. County Select's team scored 31 runs without losing a wicket in their second innings till the end of the game.
After County XI's first innings, the Indian team took a strong lead on 51 runs off 77 balls. Mayank Agarwal scored 47 runs in 81 balls with the help of seven fours and Cheteshwar Pujara scored 38 runs in 58 balls with the help of five fours. Earlier on Thursday morning, County Select was to resume the first innings 220/9 but Avesh Khan could not play due to injury and the first innings ended on the same score.
In the first innings of County Select, Umesh Yadav took 3 wickets and Mohammad Siraj took 2 wickets for India. Jasprit Bumrah, Shardul Thakur, Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel got one wicket each.
In this match, two players of the Indian team playing for County Select XI picked injury. First fast bowler Avesh Khan suffered injury. After this, off-spin all-rounder Washington Sundar also suffered a thumb injury. Washington Sundar was part of the County XI team in the first warm-up match. He was included in the County XI squad against the Indian team led by Rohit Sharma. Meanwhile, he scored one run in the first innings while batting. Both these players have been ruled out of the five-Test series against England starting on August 4.
