The Ashes 2023: The Aussies have retained the Ashes again this time just like they did in 2019. The fourth Test match of this red ball series ended in a draw because the rain gods also showed their presence in this Test match at Old Trafford in Manchester.

The last day of this match was a complete washout and that too without a single ball was bowled.

Australia would be actually thanking the rain gods because the visitors were outplayed by Stokes and Co in this red ball game.

But still, England needs to win the last red ball game against The Aussies at a venue where Australia won the WTC 2023 Final against India. The hosts are still 1-2 down in this Ashes 2023 series.

The fifth and the last Test match of this series will be played at Kennington Oval in London, where The Aussies had started their UK tour with a big win against India last month.

Before the final match of the Ashes 2023 series starts, Let us look at the three best performers of the fourth red ball game between these two countries.

1. Zak Crawley

The opening batter of the England Cricket Team did a tremendous job in the lone innings in which the home side batted.

Zak Crawley stuck to his BazBall approach which paid off in the end for him and his team. Zak had put the Aussies under complete pressure during his mammoth knock of 189 runs which he scored from just 182 balls.

England deserved to win the fourth Test match and they were in the winning position mainly because of Crawley’s counter-attacking knock.

His innings took off the pressure from the other England batters like Joe Root, Moen Ali, Ben Stokes, Harry Brook and Johnny Bairstow.

These batters also scored a well-compliant half-century in the first and lone innings of England.

2. Chris Woakes

England's fast-bowling all-rounder has been in good form and he used that in this game during the first innings in which Australia batted. The Aussies had a decent start to their innings.

But none of the Australian batters could get to the three-figure mark. That was mainly because of Chris Woakes, who bowled a magnificent spell and picked up a five-wicket haul in the fourth red ball match of this series.

3. Marnus Labuschagne

The number three batter of the Aussie team got to 51 runs in the first innings and he looked good for more as well. But his casual approach against Moen Ali didn’t allow him to score more.

However, in the 2nd innings, Marnus played well when his team was in deep trouble. Australia wanted to save this red ball game and Labuschange scored 111 runs from 173 deliveries and kept the hopes of all the Aussie fans alive in their second innings this red ball match.
