On Friday i.e. June 09, a fire incident occurred at a Newborn Child Hospital located in Vaishali Colony, New Delhi. Swift action was taken as nine fire tenders were promptly dispatched to the scene, and firefighting officials heroically rescued 20 newborns from the dangerous blaze.
Thanks to the diligent efforts of the Department of Fire Services (DFS), all the infants were successfully saved and evacuated.
They were immediately transferred to nearby hospitals for further care and treatment. The precise cause of the incident is currently unknown and under investigation.
According to Atul Garg, Director of the Delhi Fire Service, at approximately 01:35 am, they received information about the hospital fire and immediately dispatched fire tenders.
The firefighting team acted swiftly and managed to successfully extinguish the fire. Fortunately, all the children were rescued unharmed and swiftly transferred to different hospitals for continued care. There were no reported injuries in the incident.
Notably, the hospital did not possess a fire NOC (No Objection Certificate), and it was a single-floor facility.
An investigation into the incident will be conducted to ascertain further details. This information was shared by Atul Garg in a statement to ANI (Asian News International).
According to the Police, among the total of 20 newborns, 13 were relocated to Arya Hospital in Janakpuri, while two were transferred to Dwarka More Newborn Child Hospital.
In addition, two newborns were transferred to JK Hospital located in Janakpuri, while three infants were discharged from the Newborn Child Hospital in Vaishali.
