The discussion about the punishment for the perpetrators of the Ahmedabad serial explosions in 2008 has come to an end. Today, the special court will deliver the punishment in this case (February 18). Let us tell you that the prosecution has asked the court to sentence all of the defendants to death, while the defense has asked for at least a reduced sentence. It's worth mentioning that in the Ahmedabad blast case, Judge AR Patel of the Sessions Court convicted 49 defendants on February 8. The court found 28 of the 77 defendants not guilty. The discussion concerning the sentence of 49 blast defendants is now concluded. The penalty has not yet been declared by the court.

On February 18, the court will issue its decision in this matter. During the trial, the defense urged that the perpetrators get the least amount of punishment possible. At the same time, the prosecution has urged that all of the defendants be executed. Let us tell you that in the year 2008, Ahmedabad was hit by a series of bomb blasts. This catastrophe resulted in the deaths of 56 individuals and the injuries of 200 more. The 21 serial blasts in Ahmedabad on July 26, 2008, rocked the entire country. In Ahmedabad on July 26, 2008, 21 bomb blasts occurred in less than an hour. In this case, Ahmedabad Police has filed 20 FIRs. In Surat, 15 other FIRs were also filed at the same time.
