Haryana Elections: The stage is set for the Haryana Assembly Elections 2024. On October 5th, voting will take place for all 90 seats in the state.

Once again, the primary contest appears to be between the BJP and Congress. Both parties have announced their candidates, as well as their election manifestos.

Congress has made several key promises in their manifesto, including:

  • 300 units of free electricity and free medical treatment up to ₹25 lakh.

  • A monthly allowance of ₹2,000 for women aged 18 to 60 and LPG cylinders for ₹500 per family.

  • Under the "Secured Future for Youth" guarantee, Congress promises to provide 2 lakh permanent government jobs and make the state drug-free.

  • A monthly pension of ₹6,000 for senior citizens, the disabled, and widows, along with the restoration of the old pension scheme.

  • A caste-based survey and an increase in the OBC creamy layer limit to ₹10 lakh.

  • Legal guarantee for MSP (Minimum Support Price) and immediate compensation for crop damage.

  • 100 square yard plots and two-room houses worth ₹3.5 lakh for poor families.

Additionally, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has stated that, if elected, Congress will build a memorial in Haryana to honor the farmers who were martyred during the farmers' movement and provide jobs for their children.

  • ₹2,100 per month for all women under the Lado Lakshmi Yojana.

  • Creation of 10 industrial cities modeled after IMT Kharkhoda, providing special incentives to entrepreneurs to generate 50,000 jobs per city for local youth.

  • Under the Chirayu-Ayushman Yojana, each family will receive free medical treatment up to ₹10 lakh, with an additional ₹25 lakh for seniors over 70.

  • Procurement of 24 crops at the declared Minimum Support Price (MSP).

  • 2 lakh permanent government jobs for youth without bribes or influence.

  • Employment opportunities for 5 lakh youth and monthly stipends through the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme.

  • Construction of 5 lakh homes in urban and rural areas.

  • Free dialysis in government hospitals and free diagnostics in all hospitals.

  • Establishment of Olympic sports nurseries in every district.

  • ₹500 LPG cylinders under the Har Ghar Grihani Yojana.

  • Scooters for rural college girls under the Avval Balika Yojana.

  • Government job guarantee for every Haryanvi Agniveer.

  • In partnership with the Government of India, construction of the KMP Orbital Rail Corridor and introduction of new Vande Bharat trains.

  • Collaboration with the central government to launch various rapid rail services and an Intercity Express Metro between Faridabad and Gurugram.

  • Establishment of separate welfare boards for backward communities (36 castes) with adequate budgets.

  • Increase in all social pensions using a scientific formula linked to DA and pensions.

  • Full scholarships for OBC and SC students from Haryana studying medicine and engineering in any government college in India.

  • The Haryana government will guarantee loans up to ₹25 lakh for OBC entrepreneurs, in addition to the MUDRA scheme.

  • Transforming Haryana into a global education hub by providing modern skill training.

  • Creation of an international-level Aravalli Jungle Safari Park in southern Haryana.
