Maharashtra Polls: In the meeting of the Congress Central Election Committee regarding the Maharashtra Assembly elections, the names of candidates for 63 seats have been finalized. According to sources, Congress will release its first list of candidates on October 23. The next meeting of the Congress Central Election Committee will be held on October 25, where the remaining candidates are expected to be finalized.

Some of the names from the 63 candidates approved in the recent meeting have already emerged. Let's take a look at which candidates Congress may field from various constituencies in its first list.

  • Nana Patole: Sakoli

  • Prithviraj Chavan: Karad South

  • Balasaheb Thorat: Sangamner

  • Vijay Wadettiwar: Bramhapuri

  • Nitin Raut: Nagpur West

  • Aslam Shaikh: Malad West

  • Yashomati Thakur: Teosa

  • Vishwajeet Kadam: Palus-Kadegaon

  • Amin Patel: Mumbadevi

  • Naseem Khan: Chandivali

  • Amit Deshmukh: Latur City

  • KC Padvi: Akkalkuwa

Congress has completed the screening process for 96 seats in Maharashtra so far. The party is expecting to secure around 110 seats as part of the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance.

To discuss issues related to the alliance, senior Maharashtra Congress leader Balasaheb Thorat will meet Uddhav Thackeray and Sharad Pawar in Mumbai at 3 PM on Tuesday, October 22.

How Many Seats Will Congress Contest?

In the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections, Congress, which is part of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), is expected to contest 110 seats.

The party is likely to receive these 110 seats within the MVA alliance, but Congress will also need to accommodate the Samajwadi Party within this allocation.

Regarding the seat-sharing dispute with the Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction), Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole made a statement on today, October 21. He assured that the Maha Vikas Aghadi will contest the Maharashtra Assembly elections in a united manner and emphasized that there are no differences between the allied parties.
