Maharashtra Elections: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday unveiled the Bharatiya Janata Party's manifesto for the Maharashtra elections.
In its manifesto, the BJP has pledged to waive farmers' loans, provide ₹2,100 per month to women, create 2.5 million jobs, and implement a Bhavantar scheme for farmers.
The BJP has announced plans to waive farmers' loans and implement a Bhavantar scheme for them. The manifesto also promises 25 lakh new jobs in Maharashtra and plans to establish skill centers across the state.
Additionally, the BJP has pledged to increase the elderly pension to ₹2,100 per month.
In his address, Home Minister Amit Shah stated that the manifesto reflects the aspirations of the people. He took sharp aim at the opposition alliance, Maha Vikas Aghadi, saying, "I want to ask Uddhav Thackeray if he can request Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to say two good words about Veer Savarkar."
The Home Minister further said, "No one believed that Article 370 would be repealed. But today, the NDA government has accomplished this. We promised a prosperous India, and within just ten years, we have elevated the country's economy to the fifth position globally. Our commitment is that by 2027, we will make India the third-largest economy."
The election for Maharashtra’s 288 Assembly seats is scheduled for November 20, with the results to be announced on November 23.
In the previous election, the BJP won 105 seats, Shiv Sena secured 56, NCP gained 54, and Congress won 44 seats. However, after the elections, Shiv Sena parted ways with the NDA and formed a coalition government with the NCP and Congress, with Uddhav Thackeray becoming the Chief Minister.
In June 2022, internal conflicts arose within Shiv Sena, leading Eknath Shinde to break away with 40 MLAs. Eknath Shinde later became the Chief Minister with the BJP's support.
Currently, Shiv Sena has split into two factions. Similarly, Sharad Pawar's NCP has also divided into two groups—one led by Sharad Pawar and the other by Ajit Pawar.
