In the newly-elected Aam Aadmi Party government of Punjab, 10 MLAs will take oath as ministers today i.e. on Saturday, including a woman minister. The swearing-in ceremony will be held at 11 am at Punjab Raj Bhavan. On Friday, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann shared the names of 10 MLAs and their photographs on Twitter and said that the new cabinet will take oath tomorrow. Mann wrote, 'The new cabinet of Punjab will take oath tomorrow. Heartiest congratulations to all the ministers who have joined the AAP government of Punjab. The people of Punjab have given a lot of responsibility to all of us, we have to serve the people by working hard day and night, to give an honest government to Punjab. We have to make Rangla Punjab.
Among the leaders who are going to take oath as ministers in the Punjab cabinet, senior Aam Aadmi Party leader Harpal Singh Cheema is prominent. Baljit Kaur is the only woman minister. Apart from this, Vijay Singla, Lal Chand Kataruchak, Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer, Harbhajan Singh ETO, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, Laljit Singh Bhullar, Bram Shanker and Harjot Singh Bains will also take oath as ministers.
Harpal Singh Cheema is the MLA from Dirwa. He is a two-time Aam Aadmi Party MLA. In 2016, he entered politics. Harpal Singh Cheema has studied law.
Bram Shanker (Jimpa) - 57-year-old Jimpa has become an MLA from Hoshiarpur. Has been a counsellor four times.
Baljit Kaur- 45 years old Baljit Kaur has been elected MLA from Malout. For the first time, she has been elected MLA by contesting elections. Baljit, daughter of former AAP MP Sadhu Singh, is an eye doctor by profession.
Harjot Singh Bains- He is from Anandpur Sahib Vidhan Sabha and has been a part of many social movements and founded a Pan Punjab United Youth Organization at the age of 18. He actively participated in the India Against Corruption movement. At the age of 23, he was the founding president of the Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab.
Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer- 32-year-old young MLA Gurmeet Singh has become MLA for the second time. Gurmeet Singh, who won a landslide victory from Barnala, is in charge of the youth wing of the Aam Aadmi Party.
Lal Chand Kataruchak- Lal Chand Kataruchak of Aam Aadmi Party is the MLA from the Bhoa assembly seat. Bhoa assembly seat comes in the Pathankot district of Punjab. If we talk about the history of Bhoa assembly seat, then it was considered to be occupied by the Bharatiya Janata Party.
