In a shocking incident in Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, the chief of the Rajput Karni Sena, was fatally shot at his residence. The assailants fired four shots at Gogamedi.
The police swiftly responded to the scene, and is currently searching for the attackers. Reports indicate that two of the three criminals fled after firing the fatal shots.
According to the police, firing took place at around 1:45 pm on Tuesday afternoon at a residence of Gogamedi located at Shyam Nagar Janpath.
Post the shooting, a crowd gathered around the area. Gogamedi was immediately rushed to Metro Mas Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. The police are actively investigating the incident to apprehend the perpetrators.
Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has tweeted in response to the assassination of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, the National President of the National Rajput Karni Sena. He stated, 'I am stunned by the news of the murder of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi. In this context, I have gathered information from the Police Commissioner and urged for the perpetrators' swift apprehension. The public must maintain peace and patience. Making the state crime-free immediately upon taking oath in the BJP government is our foremost priority. May the soul of Gogamedi find peace. Wishing strength to family and supporters.'
In response to the incident, Biju George Joseph, the Police Commissioner of Jaipur, stated that the identities of the assailants have been identified.
In the crossfire, one assailant, Navin Singh Shekhawat, succumbed to death.
He was a resident of Shahpura in Jaipur and ran a clothing store. The other two assailants managed to escape on scooter.
