Rajasthan Election 2023: In preparation for the Rajasthan elections scheduled for November 25, strict enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct has been put in place throughout the state. The candidates are campaigning very cautiously.
However, a recent incident has caught the attention of the Election Commission, leading to immediate action.
Congress candidate Om Prakash Hudla, running for the Mahua legislative assembly seat in Dausa district, is currently facing a challenging situation.
Just a few days ago, his residences were raided by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Income Tax department.
During this ongoing scrutiny, a series of three videos have emerged on social media, showing Hudla allegedly distributing money.
Amid this development, the opposition is demanding action against Om Prakash Hudla. The videos have raised concerns among the administration and the Election Commission, prompting the commission to issue a notice to Hudla, seeking an explanation for the content of the videos.
The situation has added a layer of complexity to the election atmosphere in Rajasthan, with candidates and political parties intensifying their efforts to woo voters ahead of the upcoming polls.
The Returning Officer (SDM) for Mahua, Dausa, has also issued a notice to Om Prakash Hudla, inquiring about his actions.
The notice questions him regarding the violation of the Model Code of Conduct that came into effect from 9th October, starting at 12 PM, for the 2023 Legislative Assembly Elections.
Despite this, videos and photos of distributing money were posted on social media, which falls under the category of contravening the Model Code of Conduct and is punishable under Section 171B of the IPC.
